Huh? Microsoft had nothing to do with what Wal Mart did. Stop with that crap.
Microsoft wont chop $100 off, they will chop $50 off, NEXT year. And when they do, they'll be outselling PS3 again just as before. There's no way I see the Arcade going to $99, it's too early for that. PS2 took forever to get to $99.
PS3 might not even outsell 360 in the USA for 3 months, despite a massive redesign and now $300 in price cuts since it launched. See, there's different ways to look at things.
I know the PS3 fans want to kick the 360 and say it can never recover, forgetting that PS3 took it's lumps throught 2008-2009 and survived. The 360 will do the same. In fall 2008 PS3 didn't have a price cut while 360 did, and in 2009 360 didn't while PS3 did, hence the sales swings are nothing surprising. This is just Microsoft taking some lump while they wait for big moves next year (Natal, Reach, price, probably 360 slim, etc) the same as PS3 did last year. The difference is, Xbox is very profitable right now while PS3 has bled money constantly. |
Didn't the 360 get a price cut this year too, and how do you know that the xbox division is very profitable?
