Is it a change for the better? For me, it doesn't matter because I avoid the shovelware anyway. For the Wii market as a whole? I'm not sure. It might make it easier for people to find good games, but then again, the PS and PS2 seemed to thrive on shovelware.

But that is because it also had "killer-app" games that stood out from that.

The Wii is getting the market leader's shovelware, but not the blockbusters that usually accompany it. This has never happened in gaming before.

Yeah, I know.

But with all these games, maybe some developer will stumble onto a formula that works one of these days.

The Japanese devs have caught on. The Wii has about a dozen+ games dropping in 2010 from them.

Western teams on the other hand...........have done squat diddly ;(
