I think people are critical on the "Preview" because they want this site to be as accurate as possible, and if they see estimates that are off (especially for their favourite console) or if they see a trend, they try to point it out so that maybe it can be taken into consideration on the next preview.
The fact that we are on this site means that we want it to get better.
