^yes I know what it is, It just doesn't portray as useful a picture as simply cutting us into 4 groups (1st quarter to 4th quarter) either that or I am using box&whisker plots for the wrong purpose.

With the Wii, because in general everyone has done quite well, but with 2 people being huge outliers it means that the average distance from the mean is 36.24....etc, while the mean is 43.33...

The top and bottom of those boxes in the graph above I put as the standard distance from the mean (so the bottom of the Wii box is 43.3... minus 36.24... which is 7.09...) thing is the lowest score for Wii is 12, which is still within the standard deviation, but the graph hasn't accepted that.

I find this more useful to see the spread of scores:



we can see most people have done well with Wii, but there are just those 2 outliers.
