This is a internet forum that exist for the purpose, don't whine when someone makes a comment that doesn't please you. Who are you talking about? of course people can talk about it. Trolling on the other hand... Coming in here not to discuss but to deliberately be negative regardless of the story just because it's MS doesn't help anyone
Yes, i do know the difference between internet and WWW. Let's put in more understandable form: Segregating (the user) from open to access internet and use their own proprietary restricted service instead. you mean like PSN or Ninty's service (what is it called?) You can't acces PSN or Nintys serive from the Web. It's restricted just XBL. You can access the Web with their browsers but not the open to access internet. Any services on there are what Sony and Ninty allow to be on there with no exceptions same with you.
Whether you use the console webbrowser is irrelevant since the browser is there anyway, handy and is a very fast way to access the internet, since the time it takes to start your exceeds by multiple factor the time it takes to start your Wii and go to the webpage preferred. It's also handy to use in the comfort of your couch. Yes using that wiimote to type is quick. Ah content on this page cannot be loaded have the right programme, codec, activx, etc installed. I'll just download it... oh wait I can't I'm not on a pc but a Wii. Not the same. As for the living room, I'll just use my media centre PC. Not that filke will install.
I always thought it was Sega with Dreamcast that made online playing a standard in games consoles. In that case it was the MegaDrive. You're confusing the first one you remember with the one who made it a standard for consoles. and that was the 360or original xbox depending on how you look at it. Either way it was XBL when it took off and not Dreamareana
And yes, i can play games online with both of the consoles, so i didn't get the point of the "Nintendo consoles" comment. Just me having a bit of a laugh at ninty's online gaming service. Hasn't really set the world on fire but you can play online. Playing Mario Kart on my DS online is loads of fun. Just don't swap those friend codes.
Live as the most successful console internet service depends on the measure used. If we are talking about the number of people who pay to get to play in it, then yes. If we are talking about the service with most users, then no (though, my information is a little old). It doesn't matter how old your info is out of the 3 live is the biggest in subscritions, turnover, active users, content, time spent playing.
To put the "haters" into perspective, don't be such a fanboy to jump the gun every time someone says something about M$ you don't like. People can not like MS or Sony or Ninty, out of the 3 I only really like Ninty and this coming from the Sega camp but pointless bashing. How is that helping things? Comment on the story don't say how much you hate MS. I even pointed out one person bias on here with his poorly chosen "sacrificing goats" comment.
@NJ5: To be specific, the innovation didn't come from M$, it was the israeli company that M$ bought last summer. Other than that, they obviously are seeking ways to use it.

So many things wrong there. MS was working on a Natal like software in house but bought the israeli for it's hardware
"Project Natal is reportedly based on software technology developed internally by Microsoft and hardware intellectual property acquired from time-of-flight camera developer 3DV Systems.[7][14][21][22][23][24] Before agreeing to sell all its assets in March 2009,[25] 3DV had been preparing its own depth-sensing webcam controller, known as the ZCam.[26][fn 2]
Described by Microsoft personnel as the primary innovation of Project Natal,[29][14][24][30] the software technology enables advanced gesture recognition, facial recognition, and voice recognition.[22] The skeletal mapping technology shown at E3 2009 was capable of simultaneously tracking up to four users for motion analysis,[14][19][22][31] with a feature extraction of 48 skeletal points on a human body at a frame rate of 30 hertz.[20][31] Depending on the person's distance from the sensor, Project Natal is capable of tracking models that can identify individual fingers.[19][22]"
So innovation still goes to MS as much as you hate that also a Little bit for NJ5 at the end.
