I could see a number of ways for Link to take flight if it were to happen:
- Like other have said, giving him some sort of winged mount, whether it be a variation of Pegasus or what have you.
- Bring back the masks and have one that provides Rito-ish powers.
- Introduce some other item that makes Link capable of flight, whether its some Deku-ish device, boots with wings, or something along the lines of the Wings of Icarus from God of War III.
- Keeping with the somewhat machina feel of Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks, possibly provide Link with something along the lines of Da Vinci's flying machine, as seen in Assassin's Creed II. Or maybe even a steam punk airship of sorts, akin to the boats and trains in the DS titles.
If they do decide to implement flight, there are countless ways they could go about doing it. Possibly tying things into the peopel of the sky, as well.
