People also wont talk about how this week there was a 75k boost due to the walmart sale and COD LE Bundle. And im SURE people wont talk about the fact last year it was a $400 PS3 vs a $200 360 and this year its a $300 PS3 vs a $200 360 and it still swung 234k despite the price difference. But what do i know. |
Ok, you added some details, but you do know that you are leaving a lot out as well. If we wanted to we could mention the PS3 bundles and the different exclusives released last year vs. this year for each respective system. We could also mention that last year it was a $400/500 PS3 vs a $200/300/400 360 that had a fairly fresh price cut. This year its a freshly cut $300/400 PS3 vs a $200/300 360. Also who knows how the Wii price cut is affecting the sales of both HD systems. And the Walmart deal was, if I'm not mistaken, only in place for one day of this sales period and it was pretty much sold out by then.
We could go on and on and on and on and still get nowhere. But I think Squilliam hit the nail on the head when he stated that, despite all of these numbers, its all about who is profitable in the end and that is where Sony sits squarely in 3rd place and currently unprofitable. That has to change.
