The number of serious gamers who get their games at Walmart is likely small,

Umm no. New games are 59.99 everywhere, why would someone particularly choose to go somewhere else? Especially when Wal Mart is a store that you are often in anyway to buy unrelated items, so many times people would just buy the game there out of conveinence, rather than making a seperate trip to Gamestop.

In fact myself, I probably buy more games at Wal Mart than anywhere else. The reason is, it's the best place to get big new releases the fastest. For example, every time a new Halo or Gears game or console comes out, I go to the 24 hour Wal Mart at midnight to get it. It's easier and faster and less lines than Gamestop, and they always have big games for sale right at midnight. Any game Gamestop would have a midnight launch for would probably have big lines there. Gamestop also has a nasty habit, or at least they used to, of claiming that a game is sold out if you didn't pre-order (when in reality, there is virtually never shortages of disc based games). Wal Mart doesn't pull that crap, they always have tons, and only a handful of people in line. So yeah, with Wal Mart, less lines, always available, no need to wonder if they are doing a midnight launch.

Reread your post with emphasis on the bolded. I think you have established the very point you were trying to refute.
