they are smiliar
they share many many game that look almost identical
they have a smiliar approach to online gaming
and I struggle to think of two consoles as similar as the PS3 and 360 in any of the last 3 gens. |
And still, they aren't "twins", no matter how similar they are. They are different enough to not be considered "the same". The term is implying that the two don't do enough that is different from each other to NOT be classified as one platform, and you obviously agree. So be it, but my point remains: they aren't "twins". When I'm playing games on my 360, it doesn't feel like I'm playing a PS3 and vice versa. If anything, the exclusives REALLY help to show that the platforms are vastly different. NO game I've played on 360 feels like LBP, as no game on PS3 feels like Left 4 Dead.
The plaforms are different, the term "HD Twins" is invalid.

No... they are mostly the same.
The term is perfectly valid.
Plenty of identical twins have small differences that set them apart. For example Tiki and Ronde Barber.
They're identical twins, yet have enough differences that you can tell them apart.
Tiki is much more media savvy, and he's an NFL Runningback vs Ronde who is an NFL CB and a little more serious.
They're actually more different then the HD Twins... and they're identical twins.

I stand by my statement. Similar, sure. "Twins", no.

Once again. Actual twins have more differences then the 360 and PS3 do with each other.
I don't know how many identical twins you know... but twins are very rarely EXACTLY the same.
