Disgaea 3 likely was a huge waste of resources.
Really though I don't think it's anyones fault so much as... there isn't anything NIS can do.
They do one thing well... and a small group wants that... and that's basically all they want, and NIS doesn't have the brand power to branch out.
Disgaea 3 sold the most this generation, though it likely has made the least money this generation of a "Disgaea-like" game. With the likely exception of Phantom Brave Wii.
It should be noted though that the guy saying this is just a script editor at NIS America. Which basically means he works at a glorfied translation house.
