Now even if it doesn't outsell MW2 by January, I do say it's going to make more profit.

40-50 million to develop was already a lot, but $200 million just to market it? When movies do that, it usually covers things like DVD sales, merchandising, and other revenue streams.
So NSMBWii is definitely going to make more profit by the end of the year.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
