I think I saw something like this. It's a pad that you lay your DS, phone, iPod, etc on it and it charges them. I bet your right that pretty much all cable could be a thing of the past in about 50 years.

 

 

Yes but this will go through the air with microwaves you wouldnt even need powerlines and sockets in your house. Your House wouldnt even need a electricity connection. They transported electricity via the air from Maui to Hawaii. In the far future (40-100 years) Batterys would be senseless because every device would have constant electricity supply even cars could work without battery that would change the whole planet. 

 

 

Exactly. What I was talking about is just a very small first step. Would this be safe for humans and animals? Doctors have been saying they think the microwaves coming out of electronics have been hazardous on a small scale for a long time ( like don't hangout around microwaves if your pregnant).
