@solid: To clarify, what kowenicki is saying is that overall the gap (the hard numbers, non-aligned gap) has widened from the 360's 5.3million unit head start. Some are surprised by this, but (Wii in Japan aside), all consoles sell better in their second year so it's no surprise that the 360's second year outsold the PS3's $600 launch year. Also, the 360's third year outsold the PS3's second year, but things were going the other way until the 360 price drop in Sept 2008.
