that's actually key. As NJ5 pointed out, it's most likely for parents to buy gifts for kids during the holidays. The 360 bundle offers two attractions.
1. low entry price
2. more games and they are mostly family oriented.
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
