Mario Party 8's the best selling in the series actually. Mario Party DS is the 2nd best.
All the others (Hero, Sonic, NFS) are way down though, and most annual sports games are down too (except Tiger and FIFA).

looking at the sales for the entire series one could see that it's only in this gen the sales picked back up...because of the extended userbase and the hope that the wiimote/DS would make it more interesting.

I'd also say Nintendo suddenly NOT milking them's helped extend sales and given MP8/DS long tails.

hmm...well it's only from part 7 that they stopped releasing it every year, but every other year. Having said that it's been about 2 years since the last one....wonder how long can they hold back for?
