What do you mean? What they were saying was correct regarding the shift towards HDTVs.

I think the PS3 specifications makes perfectly sense from the grand perspective, of course there are many young kids without a HDTV and surround audio set, but there's now a large fast increasing demand for high quality HD content.

First and foremost Sony is a consumer electronics company, it's in their interest to advance the market towards HDTVs, Blu-Ray and better audio equipment.

IMO having HDMI, super powerful Cell, Blu-Ray (for games as well as HD movies, apart from much more capacity it's far less noisy and scratch resistant), default harddrive, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc all out of the box makes sense from the big picture while taking into account a 10 year life cycle.

Naughty Dog: "At Naughty Dog, we're pretty sure we should be able to see leaps between games on the PS3 that are even bigger than they were on the PS2."
