There's been a fair bit of criticism thrown at IGN over the past few days/weeks/months but I have to say I quite like this article because to me it's informative and that's what i'm looking for in my game journalists.

Basically most members of the staff give their two cents worth on NSMBWii and you get to hear a range of perspectives on the game and a number of postiives and negatives from several people's point of view without a score or percentage in sight.  For my mind this format would would be an excellent basis for reviewing games with a few minor tweaks.  Obviously it wouldn't do to have every staff member review every game but I think this format could work well with major/hyped releases, with several reviewers giving their own moderately detailed take on the game.  It could serve to allow gamers to make an informed decision about their potential gaming purchases while perhaps tempering some of the ridiculous hype and scorism that abounds in gaming journalism at the moment.

edit: Sorry, forgot to put IGN in the thread title.
