I hope they auto update the bugs I read about in the IGN review. Can't imagine playing and forgetting to save and the game locking up... that'd suck.

I didn't experience any lock-ups myself. I did once get trapped in an elevator and my auto-save and last save just reloaded me into the same trapped space, so I had to go off my last save before that which was two hours earlier. =P

That was the worst one, other stuff was minor but annoying. There's one battle where if you're hit with a bionic attack and a cutscene happens there's a good chance you'll be stuck and can't fight back. If you move before the loading screens finish you might stick yourself in the command bridge, you can wiggle free by crouching and standing up.

I do recommend you save often, and ever now and then in different file slots. (You’re limited 10 slots per career) Autosave typically only happens when you land on a planet, and then select certain events that far apart. Also recommend your first play through to set the game on easy (called casual in the game). Now it’s not a hard game, even on veteran mode were only a few die and repeat a dozen time battles that annoyed me.

But like IGN said, combat takes a long while to get a feel for and enemy AI can be cheap or dumb, so easier modes give you more room to experiment and get a feel for things, and you can adjust the difficult during the game, so if you reach a point where you’re kicking constant ass, go head and turn it back onto normal or veteran. After you beat the game you get Hardcore mode anyways, which so far I’ve only found slightly harder than veteran.
