| nightsurge said: The only thing I don't like about this game and CoD4 before it, is the fact that they literally pick the worst hosts possible. They need to fix this. I mean sure most of the time they pick hosts that can get most people to have full connections, but even then it lags a little. And then you have those people who ALWAYS get host when they are the only ones who have full green connections. 1. So, rework the matchmaking system to pick better hosts. Then you have the delay caused by the lag, and the hit boxes being too large, and bullet lag which seems worse in MW2 than in CoD4. I mean, I don't know how many times I will die after running 10 feet around a corner or going prone 2 seconds ago only to watch the kill came show bullets hitting me still standing up, or see that x hit indicator show up after I've already cleared the corner 2 seconds ago.... 2. Fix hit boxes so they aren't so wide when crouching or moving around corners. Fix bullet lag (which mostly relies on getting #1 fixed... or hey, why not use some of that $600 million on some dedicated servers?!) |
I believe that is by design. You actually will gain an advantage if your Internet connection is extremely laggy during the host selection phase. The better your connection, the less chance you will have to be selected the host. I believe that most P2P host selection algorithms work like this.
Thanks for the input, Jeff.
