Capcom said they WOULD do something like that, just that it would take longer. Rail Shooters aren't really that less resource intensive, but since you don't need to plan the levels for free movement, it takes less time to make.

It doesn't just apply to Capcom. Look at what happened with Dead Space. It concerns spin-offs as well.

 

For some strange reason, Wii owners can't understand slightly complex gaming. Instead, they receive dumbed down spin-offs labeled 'support'.
