Capcom explain why Darkside Chronicles is on-rails

I think everyone expected it to be on-rails.

"So it made sense to finish off this iteration of this series."
Sounds like they're finished with the "Chronicles". Will we see a new series of on-rails shooters after this one, or (dare I say it) a TPS RE (new or remake)?
