My expectations for cell phone games are low. I'm happy if they're remotely entertaining for more than 5 minutes. Doom RPG was fantastic, and I've played meteos quite a bit as well. But those only cost a few dollars.

DS games are considerably more expensive. So I wouldn't mind having more games of PSX and N64 quality on the DS. Even porting those games would be great for me, but they don't even do that.

It's not the quality of the games, its the style. There always has been a distinction between a handheld game and a console game (although the PSP does sit more on the console side than the handheld for game style). You can have a fantastically high quality handheld game that is nothing like a console game. Like the pokemon games for example, those are very much handheld games.

Well people expect almost PS2 quality for the PS2.

I don't think wanting PS1 and N64 quality on the DS is asking for too much. Its a very capable piece of hardware and I'd like to better efforts and even more ports of classic games.

And I disagree, the Pokemon games would be acceptable for the N64 and PS1. People bought SNES quality JRPGs for the PS1.
