No offence Puffy but Nintendo did get an all Nintendo episode of GameTrailersTV (GTTV) just last week. As for Nintendo not feeding news media what they need to know. Nintendo has always been like that, when Nintendo Power was their own magazine it still never got any exclusives. So why give some exclusive media briefings to third parties when you wouldn't even give them to your own outlet.

I have been pissed at Nintendo since the 64 days because of this. All the other companies offer demo's screens and videos but Nintendo keeps everything hush hush till the next big trade show. However Reggie did unviel a new trailer for Spirit Tracks on GTTV last weekend. Reggie is a bit better with the media then his prediscessor.

But you are right its time for Nintendo to start sponsoring media...wait.... Nintendo already sponsors Electric PlayGround another great gaming show. Its just that Nintendo themselves don't care to buy publicity. As you said EA pretty much bought BoomBlox's victory over SmashBros. I remember hearing on TV of Sony's bribes to G4TechTV (Giving a free PSP and a copy of every launch title to all the staff and interns at G4Tech). But Nintendo doesn't want to pay anyone off or bribe them to give it publicity.

Nintendo releases publicity at big events, sure they haven't always been the best at supporting the gaming media. But when all is said and done they aren't as bad as you seem to think. XPlay still gives Nintendo's titles amazing scores and as I said GTTV just had a whole episode devoted to Nintendo and Nintendo is a sponsor of Electric PlayGround. Sure they could give journalists more to chew on but that just isn't like Nintendo.

I'd love to suddenly see some exclusives break out at major media outlets I really would. But I don't think Nintendo should start buying media like Sony does.
