Will Demon's Souls win RPG of the Year?

There was once a time where I had high hopes for that game, then I saw the gameplay. Battles looked fun and I loved the sprites, but when I saw that tiny little character with the side scrolling... yeah, i'll leave it at that.

I like it.  (yes I said it)  I guess the biggest reason is, I took the game for EXACTLY what is it, fan service.  The story is screwy, the battle system isnt as fun as you would think (seen all those damn bars? silly)  and the graphics are awesome.  Hmm, I equate it to B rated movies.  When compared to other "big" profile things you might look down on them, but if you take them for what they are (not an A rated movie) they can be great.

 

And so I stay on topic, my vote is for Demons Souls for a few reasons:

1) The reception for From Software titles has never been stellar (hell they had to make more copies of the game cause it even exceeded Atlus's expectations) thats A class right there.

2) We expect good things from Biowares and Nintendo.  While Bowsers and DA are awesome games, they just dont have that WoW factor that DS brings to the table.  (I think this is part of the reason for the Persona 3 GOTY, besides how awesome the game truly is)

Fan Service is exactly why I now look forward to Trinity Universe very very much. I want Etna in 3D.
