SPOILERS!
1. Price didn't launch the nukes - someone else did. They were trying to prevent the nukes from being launched.
2. Shepard wanted revenge for the 30,000 soldiers killed in the first COD Modern Warfare. He got a blank check to do that. He had his own selfish intentions is mine.
Since we're talking spoilers, why did the story end with so many loose ends?
