Here's the big strategy with selling games on the Wii. It's actually very simple:

Copy Nintendo.

What's EA's highest selling Wii game? EA Active. A very good example of copying Nintendo.

What is the highest selling third-party game? Mario and Sonic at the Olympics. They even went so far as to get Mario characters into the game.

What kind of third party games sell on the Wii? Games that copy Wii Sports and Wii Play.

I'm not kidding, this is the best strategy. Find out what Nintendo is doing next and copy them.

EA has already made two Mario Kart clones (Nascar and MySims Racing) and some Wii Sports type (Playground, MySims Party) .   This is a losing formula (at least for EA).   For one because you can't compare to the original and two because everyone else is doing it and the market is now way oversaturated with mediocore Nintendo clones.   Look at TNMT a Brawl clone, also selling poorly despite being a decent fighter.  Why buy it if you can buy or own Brawl?

Sport Active isn't really a Wii Fit clone (barely even uses the board), it's a good example of looking at Nintendo's general direction and one upping them.
