A 90K car versus a 900K car, yeah saying that the GT-R can't beat an F1 ignores that for its price, the GT-R is amazing |
To it's credit, the McLaren F1 is a 900k car that came out 17 years ago (production began in 92). I only brought it up because someone posted a picture of a (poorly made) cake in the shape of a McLaren F1. What's really remarkable about the car is that it still remains competitive with today's supercars despite its age. Plus, it remains as gorgeous as ever.
@Wii_Master: Hahahaha, I needed a good laugh. Let's look at the specs, shall we?
McLaren F1:
Power/Torque: 627 hp (468 kW; 636 PS) at 7400 rpm and 480 ft·lb (651 N·m) at 5600 rpm
Curb Weight: 2,513 lbs (1,140 kg)
0–100 mph (160 km/h): 6.3 s
Bedford Autodrome West Circuit Lap Time: 1:21.20 (.1 seconds faster than a Ferrari Enzo ;))
Ferrari F430:
Power/Torque: 490 PS (360 kW; 483 hp) at 8500 rpm and 465 N·m (343 lb·ft) of torque at 5250 rpm
Curb Weight: 3,197 lbs (1,450lbs)
0-100 mph (160 km/h): 9.2 s.
Bedford Autodrome West Circuit Lap Time: 1:24.20
Three seconds on a track that isn't even 90 seconds long? That's an eternity. I rest my case.
OT: Brett, what car do YOU want for your birthday?
