Capitalism works far far better than socialism. I think no one would make a serious point about pure socialism or communism being better.
However, I believe that neither system can exist solely by itself. A mixed economy is better in my view, perhaps based on Keynesian economics. Capitalism is a self destructive system when it is by itself, and socialism is just bad for so many reasons I can't list them all.
I think a mixed economy that is 80%+ capitalist would be a good idea... However, usually people perceive this view as socialist, which it is not.

In short. Yay Capitalism and booooo Socialism.
