Is it not just as presumptious to call it good simply because you liked it the previous game? I liked Cod4 well enough myself, but there is a laundry list of changes outlined elsewhere detailing changes between the two versions, and on the PC platform the changes are all unfavorable. I do not need to play the game to know that p2p hosting is laggy, 9v9 max match size is not desirable for what I liked about the franchise, 65 FOV is hard to look at among other things. Basically, it is not emotional - rather it is hard to rationally see how a game that basically, at its core, plays like Cod4 but has the changes detailed could be worth the time or effort on PC.

Also, you are the one making poor assumptions in regards to the greater PC market. I will assert that my constant, and long involvement with many PC gamers and PC gaming communities and knowing a great great many PC gamers is sufficient for me to say that most PC gamers who liked Cod4 but learn of these changes are not happy. And I am not talking about hardcore PC gamers either, the majority of PC gamers I know are primarily MMO-ers who casually play FPS games with their friends, though I have also been involved with some large FPS clans and communities, typically more casual ones. Not counting yourself, I know 2 people who are still interested in buying the game on PC - like yourself they enjoy the SP, and about 2 dozen who are no longer interested. About a dozen of those being people who had not, and may not have heard of the changes had I, or someone, not taken the time to inform them. Not everyone who buys PC games pays attention to forums and things, they just go pick up the new version of a game they like when it comes out.

You like the single player, more power to you. I persoanlly never even played Cod4 single player, I have 0 interest myself in the SP of a FPS, any FPS. If that is your thing, by all means, knock yourself out.

It is important though, to get the word out so people do not dish out $$ for MW2 if they are PC gamers who are primarily interested in multiplayer and simply assume MW2 will be like MW1. What is shady on IW's part... is waiting until the 11th hour to drop all this news, they should have been more forthcoming and not assured PC gamers over the past couple years that MW2 would be like MW1.... because its not, and it was deceptive on their part.

If I might ask, which platform are you planning on playing MW2 on? PC or console?

EDIT: And yes, I agree with dahuman above - my concerns and comments are all PC related. If you are a console gamer, and like MW on conole by all means. It would appear to be a good game by the standards of console players, who have , by and large, different likes and tastes than those who choose to play FPS primarily on PC.

There are plenty of PC gamers mainly interested in SP gaming, and there are plenty of console gamers only interested in multiplayer. PC gamers do not have "higher standards" and saying PC gamers have anything, in a simple generalization. There are many different types of gamers on PC, and the multiplayer shooter niche is not necessarily the majority of PC gamers.

I think the game will be good because of the developers, not because I liked the previous game. I hope it will be good. I certainly won't call it "crap" or "garbage" that's just insulting and ignorant.

DO NOT QUOTE ME OUT OF CONTEXT HERE, I DON'T BELIEVE THIS, BUT I'M MAKING A POINT: Let's turn it around though. I'm sure that PC gamers enjoy nice SP games like The Witcher, but console gamers have higher standards when it comes to their single player experiences. If The Witcher lives up to your standards as a SP gamers on PC, then by all means, it's a great PC game, but compared to Uncharted 2, or Mario Galaxy, it is absolute rubbish, and might as well never get ported, because it is terrible, compared to those great console exclusives, and below our standards. It might as well not even exist.

Of course, that is arrogant bs. However, it is just as insulting as your insinuations about my standards as a mainly console gamer. I don't need dedicated servers or a mouse and keyboard to enjoy multiplayer shooters, and you don't need Miyamoto, Kojima, Naughty Dog, or Team ICO, to enjoy single player gaming. It DOES NOT mean I have less fun playing. It does not mean I'm less skilled at multiplayer, and it does not mean that you will have a superior experience.

Tangent: Of course, just to counteract some spin, if you want to tell me "more exclusives have been released on PC this gen, then all of last gen" or something....well list them. We'll get a list chock full of independant, RTS, and MMO games, the reason those games are exclusive, isn't by choice. They are stuck on PC, and the lot of them don't equal 1 Uncharted 2, to the single player entheusiast, imho.

The whole "your standards are lower" argument is bull no matter who makes it. Every platform has higher standards for certain things, especially when it comes to content, and acting as if gold content for another platform is "shit" to you, is about as elitist as you could possibly sound, if you realize it or not.

You're stuck with it, and this is one, if not the biggest game being released on PC this year, no matter how many people sign this petition and no matter how many people disagree with this multiplayer tweaks associated with it. PC is multiplayer centric and this game is the multiplayer game most people have been waiting for. It's understandable they're upset, but they're still gonna play it, believe me.

I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.

NO NO, NO NO NO.
