The amount of precision required for 4 people doing these jumps at these speeds at the same time would mean any amount of lag absolutely kills the game. I've actually died on the first level of SMB1 while playing with a wireless 3rd party NES controller that had some lag.
It would have been cooler if it also had online co-op 'cuz that way I'd get to play with all you guys, but I'm more a fan of local co-op and would rather have friends and foes alike in the same room while we play.
