I think Sony's big problem is that they don't let you throw your partner characters into liquid-hot magma. You don't get more hardcore than watching your buddies burn alive.

Don't forget about being able to feed your opponents to ravenous beasts, or throwing them to their multi-story doom.

Or throwing bombs at people in Zelda. Terrorism!

And I want it on the record that this was decades before Modern Warfare 2.
