Sega had 52% market share at the end of 1993. Then they released the 32X and Nintedo released Donkey Kong Country and Sega's sales imploded.

That 52% is misleading.

 

Sega released in  1989, the SNES was  in 1991, two years later. So in 1993 Sega had 4 years on the market, while SNES had 2, and Nintendo had already cut their share in half. Segas sales didn't implode at all, just the SNES was so much more successful.

It would be the equivalent of saying the xbox in early 2007 had much more marketshare than Nintendo, but since Nintendo released _____ and Xbox sales imploded and Wii took the lead.
