If KH3 were to be on the Wii then i wouldnt expect anything more then i did with KH2 but with Wii controls.

You have to admit, Keyblade = Wiimote could be a pretty attractive selling point for the family friendly casual masses.  And really, the family friendly casuals are KH's big audience in the west...

Versus it's practically Kingdom hearts.

it have the director, the team and the music and it's an action rpg like KH.

and ps3 also have motion controls now.

so for now only reason to put it on the wii would trying to target a different demographic, maybe lower development cost

but considering FF13 it's creating just that on the HD console may go HD reusing some assets from Versus, white engine, and still getting motions controls from the ps3.

Versus is probably the best case as to why PS3 won't get KH3 imo... it's already been in development for near 3 years and no release is in sight (people are guessing end of 2010 at the earliest, 2011 likely even).  If anything, I'd say Versus is probably the more "core oriented" replacement for what would've been KH3 PS3.  It's also why I suspect KH3 might just be held back until next gen instead, since we're bound to start seeing new consoles by 2012.  We'll get a KH on Wii for sure, but it might not be KH3.

Also, there's the distinct possibility Swand won't sell enough to make AAA games developed for it worthwhile.   Look at EyeToy, it moved like 3 million and how many SE games did that get?   Hell, look at the Wii Balance Board, it has a near PS3 level install base (well over 20m) and hasn't gotten a SE game either.

I'd also argue Wii's not so much a different demographic, 70% of Wii owners had a PS2 according to NPD.  Wii holds the casual demographic now.

Uhh....Versus is the BEST reason as to why KH3 would end up on the PS3. The KH team is specifically working on getting their engine and game optimized for the PS3's architecture. Then afterwards, making another game won't take that much time. It's just like what Kazunori said about GT6. Something to the tune of:

"With GT5, we worked from scratch, and from the bottom up. That's why it took so long. You won't have to wait as long for GT6 as you did GT5 because we'll just be adding assets and a few tweaks to the next version"

Had Versus released in 2008-2009, I'd agree.  The timing just doesn't work now though, and we have a 2nd dedicated KH team now too (who's made PS2/PSP games while Versus took up the original team the past few years).  That's why I think KH3's unlikely this gen.... in a real sense, FFXIII's huge budget and demands stole it.

There's also the Disney influence, it's ultimately their IP remember.  We'll see a Wii game, even if it's not "Kingdom Hearts 3".
