Eh, the Wii has picked up after its price drop. It isn't selling at last year's levels, but it's doing far better than it was pre-cut.
The real problem is the lack of hardware movers. Since Nintendo is pretty much driving all the hardware with its own software (unlike the PS2, which thrived on its 3rd party support), when they have a huge gap in the major hitting lineup (over a year between MK Wii and WSR), things start to go bad.
I do wonder how they'll prevent from making this mistake again. Relying on being able to pump out evergreen titles as consistently as they want to can be a dangerous strategy, as they have no doubt learned this year. They seem to be betting the farm on the vitality sensor now (best of luck to em!).
