you have zero idea then. its completely refined. there is no game engine now-a-days that doesnt need 64bit for development purposes. While you code in 32bit, if you want, the power beind 64bit apps allows a more effective floor to create animations, graphics, etc. Why do you think a lot of developer PCs cost serveral thousand dollars?

64bit it's not the problem but the amount of ram,x86-64 allows 64bit operating system to run many 32bit apps but  a dev IDE that eat ups 8gb sounds moustrous, unless they mean it's the amount for a big project open+ the OS space required. especially when the game running would be 512mb-2gb.

 

 

when a developer runs a debug and test process, the ram will be used because the dev tool has to run in background with the game.
