Most television networks do that. The programming for the next "day" really doesn't start until 6:00 AM or so.
Adult Swim, for instance, would call their lineup for tonight, from 10:00 PM eastern to 6:00 AM eastern, their "Thursday" lineup, as opposed to their "Thursday-Friday" lineup, to keep things simple.
