Could the Wii be upgraded like N64 (expansion pack) and Genesis (cd + 32x)

If this early, they make a new wii and it's considered a new console that replaces the old one, then the ps2 beats the wii in sales.

 

I would be surprised if nintendo would allow that to happen, because the wii could outsell the ps2 based on the pace if it is out long enough.
