Yeah, I could name some very offensive things that get attention on the internet too, but it's been a while since I've seen a government funded ad encouriging me to rape the girl next door.
Seriously, you are pulling a small bit out of context here. This is just a European ad which may seem a bit weird to people from other continents, but we see weirder ad's around here. The North american ad is completely different and more in focus with that market. This ad just gets some more attention because it stands out from the rest. I haven't seen any discussions about the latest 360 commercial for that matter.
Creativity and originality stands out in the extremely predictable tv commercials market and just gets that extra bit of coverage. Some people like it, some don't. A principle that goes for tons of products and commercials. I don't like that 360 ad I reffered too, but it wont mean I don't like the 360. It's just an ad.
