Hearing that some brat at IGN thinks this is a step backwards because it harkens to pre-PlayStation gaming gets me even more hyped. Mario Kart Wii took a step backwards too, towards the SMK roots. Even Galaxy was a step backwards in some regards, with more linear A-to-B traditional platform gameplay, and none of the un-fun, frustrating difficulty of Mario Sunshine which the hardcore loved because it made Mario more niche. Good riddance to the new school, all the hail the huge step backwards. |
