Yes, in fact I was just meaning the case of only MS pulling out while both Wii and PS3 were still running.
OTOH, if you think about it, even only one console managing to still sell enough to justify the effort when the others can't anymore would be, if not a victory, an achievement, and a quite important one for Sony, if it manages to do it, as with PS3 starting profiting quite late, it will be advisable to sell it as long as possible and viable.
About the cut, well that argument looks a lot like MS damage control PR after its cut worked less than competitors' ones, but maybe it's to early to talk, we'll have to wait and see sales after Xmas to get some longer term trends.
