FFCC: TCB isn't using the Crystal Tools...
They made VC2 for PSP to make the series more popular (esp in Japan). That's it.

Are we sure on CB? I thought it'd been implied, but never definitely stated? I know FFXIII, FFvsXIII and FFXIV were all confirmed CT games, I'd expect it probably applied to all SE's internally developed upcoming console games?
As for VC2... well, putting it on PSP certainly won't make it more popular outside Japan. The game's being made pretty much for Japan to exclusion of western concerns at this point, otherwise it'd be HD multiplatfom, DS or Wii. :P

not really, it looks like tweaked FF12 + GC FF crystal chronicles engine.
|
I doubt it. It doesn't look anything like FFCC GC engine wise and it doesn't share any key staff with FFXII (they made The Last Remnant). It looks basically like it's been done ground up... out of all the last gen SE games, it probably looks closest to Dawn of Mana, but it doesn't share any of that staff (and likely tech) either.

That's no true. The Last Remnant was made largely from members from the SaGa team.

Also, the 20-30 million is relevant because that's a good estimate of what Square spent on their top level projects in that era. Final Fantasy Tactics was by no means a small or short project.

Kawazu took over the FFXII team and gutted it after Matsuno left mysteriously. They basically are the SaGa team now, and a good amount of the same staff worked on TLR also.
And how much exactly do you think was spent on FFT? You seem to be making an awful lot of implications, with precious few commitments...
