I can't see Insomniac going anywhere soon. I mean they built IP's for Sony , strong IP's that I can't see them abandoning. Resistance alone as an IP has shipped more then 5-million units, then theirs Ratchet with a lifetime of over 13.5 Million copies shipped. These two franchises are among the strongest in Sony's library and Insomniac is well taken care of to keep them going.

So why would Insomniac leave even temporarily (For a single title or two)? I think Microsoft could invest in taking them over as they did Rare. However unlike Rare, Insomniac doesn't have any good self owned IP's that would be aquired in the merger. Then just like Rare all the devoted Sony fan staff would bail leaving Microsoft or Nintendo with just a shell of a company (Consisting of virtually just the name).

In the end when Insomniac's IP's begin to bottom out and Sony is no longer such a supportive publisher then we will see an Insomniac published title hitting the NextBox and WiiHD. But sales right now are stong enough on Sony's platform to prevent them from leaving!
