You're comparing it to Super Mario Galaxy? The same Super Mario Galaxy with a 97 on Metacritic? The same SMG which is the second highest rated game of all time on GameRankings?

I don't think anyone was surprised by that.

As for NSMBWii, highly unlikely. Firstly, it's in 2D and doesn't really reinvent anything, the way SMG did. Secondly, giving GoTY to 2 Mario games in 3 years would be a little off.

uuh... yeah? And I dont think SMG really did invent everything. Its just the same as other 3-d marios out there. But lets wait and see on what the review scores shows up. I know the review scores is different on the review itself.

Please anyone post back but... has any 3-d platformer uses gravity as in super mario galaxy? if not then I see a huge innovation there for not only mario games but for other platformers...

Ratchet and Clank says hi even the interplanetary level design. And I shouyld give props R&C for that... SMG only improves on that

Did Ratchet and Clank have you running around sideways and upsidown, dodging enemies and projectiles on a spherical grid?  The real innovation of Mario Galaxy is not simply 'interplanety level design', its the fact that they took the traditionally flat Platformer genre and made it truly 3D, putting you in worlds that were spherical and fully interactive on a new level beyond just running on a flat plane.  In other words, its the next step beyond Mario 64.

'Interplanetry Level Design' could be traced back to Kirby or even earlier if you wanted to make that weak argument.
