Wii game of the Year is to be expected, Overall GOTY is quite hard, may happen on one or two, maybe smaller, publications. I do expect a few nominations.
About innovation, I don't see the point. People say NSMB Wii has no innovation for GOTY and state MW2 is a good contender at the same time. Now, I haven't been following MW2 that much, so I may be off, but what big innovation does it bring?
And let's assume NSMB Wii is (maybe surprisingly?) good enough to be called best 2D Mario. Wouldn't that be big enough to qualify?
