The developers and publishers are clearly at fault.  They can't put out a product that's inferior in every way to what they put out on other consoles and expect it to sell.  Third party games are getting better, but that doesn't excuse the half hearted attempts in the past.

Tad overreaction?... maybe in the beginning of this gen, but now?

I did say third party games are getting better, didn't I?  They still aren't where they need to be though.  Hopefully games like Monster Hunter Tri, F1 2009, Epic Mickey, etc. can turn the final corner.

It always makes me laugh when I hear publishers like EA say Wii owners want something different.  That's not true at all.  What we want is for companies like EA to make quality titles, not Madden 10 with its ridiculous graphics or Dead Space Extraction.  Third parties have it in their head that Wii owners want accessible games, and that's killing them.  The audience on the Wii is diverse -- there is no one size fits all and if a game doesn't work well with accessibility, it shouldn't be accessible.  At least they are starting to put some effort in to the Wii now, so that's a start.  The problem is they can't even comnprehend that some of the titles they put out on the Wii were pure junk, and that's no doubt due to those genious executives who buy in to their developers who tell them the Wii just isn't capable of games at a ceertain level, when the reality is the executives put extreme time constraints and don't want to give them the resources to enable them to do their jobs so the developers say what they have to say and do what they have to do (put out inferior games while saying it's the best the Wii is capable of).
