@68soul, how is Wii's potential market saturated? There are hundreds of millions of people who don't own a Wii and are not gamers, but could afford it, there is a much larger market still untapped by Wii.
The core nintendo games won't attract, you're right, but neither will the core third party, the multiplats aren't going to help push the Wii sales, what is needed is software to reach those hundreds of millions who still haven't gotten into gaming.
GTA and FF will not give the Wii the sales that it needs, if it could, then MS and Sony wouldn't be so far behind the Wii.
Nintendo never had trouble selling software to the mass market that only buys 3-4 games, maybe because they buy more games than you know
No Wii doesn't need to move on the hardware side, until they can find another disruption, one that shatters the Wii market and creates a totally new one.
Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!! Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)
