holy fucking hell, did ya'll just read the topic title before you posted?!?!

“We failed with the Wii. We were unable to continually release strong software, and let the nice mood cool. We were unable to show a new game to become ‘the next thing.’ In the game market, once you’ve lost the momentum, it takes time to recover. With the price drop, sales returned to a certain level, but they just did not reach the level of last year around this time. We decided that it would be difficult to sell enough to recover from the poor performance of the first half of the year. In order to reach it (20 million target), we’ll have to move quite a large quantity, but it’s a figure we released after having felt the momentum returning [based off the price drop].”

all you have to do is read the first line to know what he's talking about. he's not saying its a failure saleswise, hell, he's not saying the wii is a failure at all. all he's saying is that THEY (nintendo) failed to continually release strong software, which led to the 2 year game drought and the subsequenst loss of momentum.

NOT ONCE does it call the wii's sales (LTD) a failure, so trying to compare it to the 360 and PS3 is irrelevant, and stupid.

EDIT: this was in response to the ignorance in the the first page.
