This sounds like it might be from comments related to Nintendo lowering its sales expectations.

I honestly think that Nintnedo expected a third-party avalanche of software in the second year like what happened with the DS.

However, it failed to materialize, in part because of the higher cost of console development investment and in part because the market segmentation for consoles was 1:1 (Wii vs. PS3/360) rather than 2:1 (DS vs. PSP).

If Nintendo knows it missed a chance and still is the market leader, (Wii outsold PS3 and Xbox 360 worldwide last week while winning two regions and battling to a virtual tie in a third), I would hate to competing against it.

I got a feeling that there will be an avalanche of software releases coming from Nintendo in the near future. I don't know if thats a good or bad thing as Nintendo still is looking to 3rd parties for more support, and a lot will shy away from the Wii using the 1st party competition excuse. =/
