You're talking about nostalgia.
Everything is deeper, gameplay is tighter, everything is more fun nowadays.
Try this:
1- Find a boy today who is gaming on the PS3/360 (the same age when YOU discovered gaming).
2- Tell them to play Zelda on the N.E.S, Sonic on the Megadrive, FF6 on the Super NES...
3- He will say: "IT SUCKS!!!" "So boorrring" "WHAT? You were playing this shit back then???"
