It does kind of suck that you have to pay $8 on PS3, and then XBL costs $4 (I don't know). Does this do anything the 360 can't?

It doesn't matter for me anyway, because none of this affects the UK. I am more interested in the Play TV update which claims means it can get HD channels.. which it doesn't seem able to do

Is there a $4 option for the 360? I have the $10 dollar or so variant (1 disc at a time, Blu-Ray upgrade), and I thought that was the cheapest (-blu-ray of course) that had streaming.

Isn't it just part of XBL Gold, which costs $4 per month, I am told

I paid 35 for Live for 13 months, from Amazon, so 2.70 or so a month...your mileage may vary depending on specials you find, location etc.

However, streaming from Netflix is something you get from Netflix, not Live.  So you are paying 8 to Netflix for the right to stream to any streaming, enabled device.  For me, that means my PC, my PS3 and my 360.

Sorry, to get back on topic, no I did not reserve the disc, as I currently use my 360 to stream to my primary TV.

Okay, I thought Netflix was free with gold... my bad
